With the Chair of Medical Education the TUM Medical Education Center (TUM MEC) aims to combine educational research, medical didactics and curriculum development in order to create excellent medical teaching. TUM MEC is headed by Professor Pascal Berberat, Academic Program Director (APD) Medicine and acting Vice Dean Academic and Student Affairs of the TUM School of Medicine and Health.

With its staff, TUM MEC forms the center for all matters related to medical teaching at the TUM School of Medicine and Health - in cooperation with the Student Office on the University Hospital rechts der Isar Campus and the Curriculum and Study Commission of the Human Medicine degree program. A particular focus is placed on promoting the professional identity development of our students by providing them with targeted support in both their medical professionalization and their personal development through innovative teaching formats.
